Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, FP&A, the Senior Manager, FP&A Planning & Reporting Systems is responsible for advancing BioMarin's global planning capabilities, consolidated management reporting, data integration, and analytics strategy. This high-visibility role serves as the bridge between Finance, IT, and the broader business, owning the governance, evolution, and performance of the systems that power global financial planning and reporting. The successful candidate will apply strong project management discipline, partner across all finance functions, and prioritize initiatives aligned to Global Finance's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Ownership & Governance: Own the administration, governance, and continuous improvement of global FP&A planning and reporting systems, ensuring data integrity, system reliability, and process effectiveness.
  • Systems Strategy & Transformation: Support the design, enhancement, and implementation of next-generation planning, forecasting, reporting, and analytics capabilities, translating business requirements into scalable, sustainable solutions.
  • Process & Framework Development: Develop and embed best-practice FP&A processes, workflows, controls, documentation, and global change-control procedures to support consistent execution across regions and functions.
  • Data Integrity & Integration: Oversee data management, integration, validation, and reconciliation across systems, functions, and acquired entities to ensure consistent and accurate financial information enterprise-wide.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with Finance, IT, and external vendors to prioritize enhancements, troubleshoot issues, manage vendor performance, and deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Reporting, Automation & Analytics: Drive reporting standardization, automation, and advanced analytics to improve efficiency, insight generation, and executive decision-making.
  • Enablement & Adoption: Serve as the FP&A systems subject matter expert, delivering user training, support, and enablement while fostering global adoption of tools, standards, and best practices.
  • Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement: Identify root causes of system, process, and data issues and lead resolution efforts that improve performance, scalability, and the overall user experience.

Critical Attributes & Qualifications

  • FP&A Expertise: Deep understanding of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial performance management within a global organization.
  • Systems Experience: Extensive experience leading, implementing, and enhancing enterprise planning and reporting platforms; strong preference for Oracle EPM/Hyperion, Anaplan, SAP, and related financial systems.
  • Global & Transformation Track Record: Proven success supporting complex, multi-entity global environments, including system transformations, business process redesign, and post-acquisition integrations.
  • Data & Architecture Fluency: Strong understanding of financial data architecture and system integrations, with hands-on experience connecting planning systems to ERP, HR, and operational platforms.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Strength: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Communication & Influence: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions, build alignment, and present effectively across departments and levels.
  • Execution & Leadership: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver complex initiatives in a fast-paced, global environment, while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
