In this role, you will help BioMar’s manufacturing operations run efficiently, safely, and sustainably. You will engage in both short-term problem-solving and long-term projects, gaining hands-on experience through placements and secondments across different parts of the business during the first year.
Responsibilities
- Support and improve manufacturing processes to ensure high quality and efficiency
- Monitor performance data to identify and solve process issues
- Document and share best practices across operations teams
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects that drive innovation
- Ensure health and safety standards are met at all times
Qualifications
Must-have:
- Degree in Chemical or Industrial Engineering at 2:1 level or above (or a similar discipline)
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing environments and lean principles
- Excellent data analysis skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Right to work in the UK, a valid passport, and willingness to travel when required
- Driver’s license and access to transport
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of aquaculture or food production industries
- Familiarity with MES, PLC, or SCADA systems
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt or similar continuous improvement training
- Additional languages such as Spanish are desirable but not essential
Salary and Working Hours
Salary: £30k
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week. These hours may be variable depending on role requirements and may include flexible hours:
- Start time between 8 am – 10 am
- Core hours: 9 am – 4 pm
- Finishing time: between 4 pm – 6 pm
The role includes a 3–6 month internal secondment to gain experience in the manufacturing environment as part of development. This is flexible but may involve shift work with Production management. Occasional out-of-hours or weekend work may be required to meet business needs.
