This is not a routine service role. You will own instrument performance across multiple Biolyz sites, provide routine cleaning of the mass spectrometers, solve complex hardware and software issues, and act as the technical authority for triple quadrupole platforms in demanding lab environments. - Install and commission SCIEX 7500 and 7500+ QTRAP systems across Europe and UK
- Lead complex troubleshooting of vacuum, ion optics, electronics, and front-end LC issues
- Perform advanced diagnostics beyond standard preventive maintenance
- Drive root cause analysis on repeat failures and performance drift
- Optimize sensitivity, robustness, and uptime in high-throughput labs
- Train Biolyz employees on advanced maintenance and performance optimization
- Act as technical escalation point for all Biolyz sites (currently Germany, Austria and UK)
What You Must Bring
- 5+ years field service experience on SCIEX triple quadrupole platforms
- Direct hands‑on expertise with 7500 or 7500+ QTRAP systems
- Strong knowledge of:
- Turbo molecular and roughing pump systems
- Vacuum leak detection and pressure diagnostics
- ESI source behavior and contamination management
- LC front‑end troubleshooting
- Sciex OS software and acquisition workflows
Who You Are
- Highly autonomous and accountable
- Comfortable working in startup conditions with limited structure
- Decisive under pressure
- Strong communicator with scientists and lab management
- Focused on measurable performance outcomes
Why This Role
You will not be one of many engineers in a large service network. You will be a key technical pillar in a focused, high‑growth operation. Your work will directly affect customer retention, reputation, and expansion in Europe and UK.
What We Offer
- Senior‑level compensation aligned with experience
- Short‑term: Salary to ensure that your lifestyle is covered and you are able to work worry‑free about money
- Medium‑term: (Team) Bonus that ensures that you are aligned with our medium‑term goals, that quality is held high and that the team is operating at 100%. Bonuses tend to be up to ~20% of gross salary.
