We leverage biomarkers to predict injuries and performance for professional athletes. Biolyz HQ is based in Austria, collaborating with top football clubs and high-level sports organisations, offering a fast-paced, innovative environment where your expertise can have a real impact.

The Role

We are building a high-performance LCMS technical team in Europe and are hiring a Senior Field Service Engineer with deep expertise in SCIEX 7500 and 7500+ QTRAP systems. This is not a routine service role. You will own instrument performance across multiple Biolyz sites, provide routine cleaning of the mass spectrometers, solve complex hardware and software issues, and act as the technical authority for triple quadrupole platforms in demanding lab environments. You must be comfortable operating independently, handling escalations, and representing a growing company in front of senior scientists and lab directors.

What You Will Do

  • Install and commission SCIEX 7500 and 7500+ QTRAP systems across Europe and UK
  • Lead complex troubleshooting of vacuum, ion optics, electronics, and front-end LC issues
  • Perform advanced diagnostics beyond standard preventive maintenance
  • Drive root cause analysis on repeat failures and performance drift
  • Optimize sensitivity, robustness, and uptime in high-throughput labs
  • Train Biolyz employees on advanced maintenance and performance optimization
  • Act as technical escalation point for all Biolyz sites (currently Germany, Austria and UK)

What You Must Bring

  • 5+ years field service experience on SCIEX triple quadrupole platforms
  • Direct hands-on expertise with 7500 or 7500+ QTRAP systems
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Turbo molecular and roughing pump systems
    • Vacuum leak detection and pressure diagnostics
    • ESI source behavior and contamination management
    • LC front-end troubleshooting
    • Sciex OS software and acquisition workflows
  • Experience supporting ISO-regulated labs
  • Willingness to travel 50 to 70 percent across Europe

Who You Are

  • Highly autonomous and accountable
  • Comfortable working in startup conditions with limited structure
  • Strong communicator with scientists and lab management
  • Focused on measurable performance outcomes

Why This Role

You will not be one of many engineers in a large service network. You will be a key technical pillar in a focused, high-growth operation. Your work will directly affect customer retention, reputation, and expansion in Europe and UK.

What We Offer

  • Senior-level compensation aligned with experience
  • Short-term: Salary to ensure that your lifestyle is covered and you are able to work worry-free about money
  • Medium-term: (Team) Bonus that ensures that you are aligned with our medium term goals, that quality is held high and that the team is operating at 100%. Bonuses tend to be up to ~20% of gross salary.
  • Long-term: Equity package; we want all employees to participate in the long-term success of the company we are all building.
  • Chance to contribute to groundbreaking work in sports performance and health biomarker analysis.
  • Opportunity to work alongside top-tier soccer clubs and high-level sports organizations.
  • High responsibility with the ability to climb the career ladder more rapidly than anywhere else. If you perform, you will earn promotions rapidly.
