Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing the laboratory team of 2-4 people, ensuring efficient workflows to meet tight timelines and release of high-quality results.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance experience with LC-MS systems.
  • Overseeing LC-MS operations, supporting troubleshooting and method optimisation.
  • Ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), ownership of quality management system, and active contribution to fulfil regulatory and laboratory health and safety requirements.
  • Supervising data analysis and interpretation, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Managing laboratory resources, including inventory and Laboratory Information Management System documentation.
  • Training and mentoring junior members of staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
  • Coordinating schedules and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement in analytical workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Master's (with minimum of 5-7 years of work experience in private sector) or PhD (with minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in private sector) in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Bioanalytics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading a laboratory team in a commercial (preferred) or research setting.
  • Strong expertise in LC-MS techniques (including micro-LC), including troubleshooting, method development and validation of targeted LC-MS methods.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and outside organisations.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Hands-on experience with LIMS and laboratory inventory management.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with Shimadzu and Sciex Hardware/software is a big plus.
