Inventory Planning Specialist.

- SUMMARY
The Inventory Planning Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of inventory at the Distribution sites, alongside developing inventory optimization processes and for monitoring and maintaining optimal stock levels of inventory products, ensuring the accuracy of inventory records.
The role is also responsible for managing the monthly UK and EU Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) activities and forecasting demand for the Distribution centres, ensuring alignment with key commercial focus areas and global standards.
This position will ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, State Departments of Health, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), EMEA and FDA Guidelines, general State and Country Regulations such as but not limited to (CLIA, CAP, USP, ISO 9001, USDA regulations, HTA license, DEA and State Controlled Substance programs) where site appropriate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for demand planning and forecasting activities through both the monthly EU S&OP and day-to-day activities
- Support key client replenishment activities alongside the commercial team. Be SME and lead contact for inventory, planning and forecast needs for specific clients.
- Manage performance and inventory utilization through identified KPIs and maintain and manage inventory reserves of identified products for specific clients.
- Analyse and present metrics on performance and trends.
- Maintain EU orderbook and ship dates alongside wider EU operational team.
- Develop relationships and drive alignment with both the commercial organisation and wider global S&OP team.
- Leads and recommends inventory management process improvement solutions to manager, implements in accordance with management direction.
- Support Sourcing team in key activities during peak times.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in planning and inventory management and that applicable policies and procedures are understood and followed.
- Assist in the management and planning of large long-term projects and other ad hoc duties.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B. S./B. A.) or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Proven experience in supply chain and/or inventory planning
- Experience analysing supply chain data to support cost, performance, and risk decisions.
- Proven experience in cross-functional stakeholder engagement
- Salesforce and X3 ERP experience a plus.
- Other Skills and Abilities
- Scheduling, planning, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Demand planning / forecasting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong customer service and communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with a proactive approach and the ability to adapt to new challenges.
- Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs including MS Office.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, shipping/receiving, customer order fulfilment and OSHA/DOT regulations.
- Technical background and technical understanding, laboratory and/or medical experience a plus.
