Responsibilities

You will join us as a Site Manager to pro‑actively manage and take responsibility for the whole site operation. You will be responsible for the highest safety and environmental standards, HAZOP, DSEAR, ATEX control measures, and full control of change compliance, with support from the central teams. You will ensure the site operates to maximise the Grid Entry Unit (GEU) gas export against budget and maximise gas export through the GEU from the gas to grid Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant, ensuring gas quality protocols are always achieved through the Biogas Upgrading Plant (BUP). You will manage the budget and cost control for the site, people management—including recruitment, staff appraisals, development and training of the site team, and manage feedstock supply, quality, supplier/haulier coordination, digestate stock levels, and planned site maintenance. You will provide regular reporting to the leadership team on the plant’s performance. The role will involve remote monitoring of the AD Process and may require working weekends and on‑call from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience

Experienced people manager with excellent process engineering skills; ideally mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications. Previous experience of achieving excellent standards of health and safety and compliance requirements. Experience of materials handling, confined spaces, working at heights, and first aid; NEBOSH General Certificate preferred but training will be provided if not already held. Experience of cost control, budgeting and managing budgets, and adaptability to changing circumstances. Desirable experience of environmental, safety and quality management systems, and working with planned preventive maintenance systems. Full UK driving licence required.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: Up to £52,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus overtime and bonus. Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, 4% employer pension, health care and 4× life assurance.
