We are looking for reliable and safety‑driven HGV Class 1 (CE) Drivers to join our transport team, moving bulk organic materials across Biogen sites and customer locations throughout the UK. The role is key in ensuring our collections and deliveries are completed safely, professionally and in line with our operational standards, contributing directly to Biogen’s mission of sustainable food waste recycling and renewable energy generation.
As part of our dedicated logistics operation, you will play an essential role in maintaining high levels of service, ensuring legal compliance, and representing Biogen to our customers and partners.
HGV Driver RequirementsThe successful candidate will be an experienced, safety‑conscious driver with a valid Class 1 (CE) licence and a strong understanding of transport legislation. You will carry out the safe and compliant collection and delivery of bulk organic materials, performing thorough daily vehicle checks, ensuring secure loads, and maintaining accurate documentation such as weighbridge tickets, delivery notes, and defect reports.
You will work closely with transport planners, site operatives, and customers, demonstrating professionalism, clear communication, and excellent customer service at all times. Experience within the waste, recycling, agricultural or transport sectors is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
The role requires adherence to site‑specific safety rules, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations, alongside the ability to work independently while contributing to the wider transport team. The role will ensure that all transport activities are carried out in a safe, compliant and efficient manner, supporting the smooth operation of Biogen’s AD plants and customer collections.
You will take pride in vehicle presentation, operate to company standards, and contribute to our commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.
