Job Summary
To ensure pre-production raw materials and production product* meet specifications and are of acceptable quality.
* in-process or finished product testingperformed by QC is an independent verification of specified inspections and/or tests that are in addition to online testing performed by production staff during the production process.
Duties & Responsibilities
– Production:
- Testing production product in accordance with specified procedures or sampling plans.Document inspection and test results.
- Approve production product by confirming acceptance to specification.
- Reject and disposition of production product not meeting specification.
- Liaise with QA & Production on issues found during product testing.
- Assist in resolving quality-related issues in a timely manner and support implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensure test methods comply with applicable consensus standards and that test methods are validated where required.
- Ability to grow up and work in a cleanroom environment as required.
- Prepare reports, present results and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Maintain storage and handling of medicinal substances such as antibiotics and antifungals in accordance with GMP requirements.
- Provide QC input for Research & Development testing, data analysis and interpretation.
– Pre-Production:
- Inspect pre-production raw materials in accordance with specified sampling plans.
- Approve incoming materials by confirming acceptance to specification.
- Reject and disposition materials not meeting specification.
- Ensure inspection and sampling activities are planned adequately to minimise delay of material availability for production.
- Liaise with QA/QC, and Warehouse & Transport Manager on issues found during material inspection.
- Assist in resolving quality-related issues in a timely manner and support implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
Essential qualifications
- Level 6 degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline or relevant experience
- 3+ years’ of experience in a quality or manufacturing environment or test laboratory
- Working knowledge of inspection or laboratory techniques or product testing
- Organisational skills and an ability to work to tight timelines
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
- Car driver
Desirable qualifications
- Any quality/inspection/testing/microbiology related training
- Worked within healthcare (medical devices/pharmaceutical) or food
- Understanding of quality control within a manufacturing environment
- Able to act on own initiative
