The National Accounts Manager (NAM) is responsible for strategic, relationship‑driven commercial leadership managing and expanding partnerships across assigned Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), and key government healthcare channels. This role drives contract strategy, strengthens enterprise‑level relationships, and ensures alignment between national agreements and field execution to maximize revenue, market share, and long‑term growth. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to influence complex stakeholder groups across clinical, operational, and supply chain environments.
The NAM will develop new IDN, GPO or government agreements, renew existing agreements prior to expiration, respond to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) as assigned, work with the field sales team to develop price quotes for new customers, and negotiate pricing and key terms of offers with healthcare supply chain departments.
Reporting Relationships
The National Accounts Manager will report to the National Accounts Director.
Essential Duties
- Develop a strategic plan for the assigned IDNs, GPOs and government entities.
- Act as key contact with assigned contracts for new customers and existing contract renewals.
- Own the full lifecycle of contracts: proposal development, pricing strategy, negotiation, award and implementation.
- Manage GPO / IDN portfolio performance including price optimization, compliance and customer engagement.
- Ensure contracts align with corporate pricing strategy and margin expectations.
- Partner with Legal, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain customers to ensure seamless execution of national agreements.
- Deliver presentations to field team to train on new key contract renewals.
- Cultivate and develop key relationships with GPO and IDN supply chain contacts for assigned agreements.
- Maintain compliance consistent with the FDA and AdvaMed.
- Undergo all formal training events as may be directed from time‑to‑time.
- Observe and comply with all Biocomposites Corporate Policies.
- Work within and ensure adherence to Quality System procedures, work instructions, and other Quality System requirements.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of healthcare supply chain contracting and negotiating experience with IDNs and major GPOs (Vizient, Premier, HealthTrust, The Resource Group, etc.), with additional experience with healthcare government contracting preferred with VA and DoD (ECAT, FSS, DAPA, etc.)
- Proven success negotiating complex agreements and managing high‑value customer agreements.
- A college degree is required. A degree in business administration, marketing or healthcare field is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrate knowledge of Biocomposites’ products.
- Effectively communicate with a variety of call points ranging from hospital executives to field sales team.
- Ability to influence and negotiate optimal pricing, terms and contract status with key assigned customers.
- Demonstrate initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness.
- Possess intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- May reside anywhere in U.S. near major airport and be available to travel to customer trade shows, meetings and sales meetings as needed.
- Undergo all formal training events as may be directed from time‑to‑time.
- Observe and comply with all Biocomposites Corporate Policies.
- Work within and ensure adherence to Quality System procedures, work instructions and other Quality System requirements.
