At Biocair our drivers are a truly vital part of our organisation. This is not just any driver role; it is one of the most crucial roles in our company where what you do will make a true impact on someone's life. It is about ensuring you transport a select number of time critical and temperature sensitive consignments in a safe, careful, and timely manner whilst maintaining the highest levels of customer care. This is a busy and fast paced role with customer care being at the centre of all you do.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring all the correct documentation is accurately completed and processed with the shipment.
  • Performing duties to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe warehouse, ensuring all materials are stored in the designated areas as well as ensuring fridges, freezers and warm room temperatures are checked and remain within prescribed parameters and maintain accurate records thereof.
  • Reporting any shortfalls of packaging stock, to the appropriate person, to ensure minimal stock levels are always maintained along with the maintenance of all relevant storage logs to 100% accuracy.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicles as well as carry out daily and weekly vehicle maintenance checks and perform simple maintenance tasks as required.
  • Building positive working relationships with other drivers, departments, and management to deliver excellent communication and customer service and working proactively to overcome problems and implement process improvements.

Key competencies:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must hold a current, full, Category B (or equivalent) driving license (maximum of 3 points).
  • Previous commercial van driving experience (Mercedes Sprinter MWB/LWB, Mercedes Vito, Maxus eDeliver9 or similar < 3.5T).
  • Confident driving a manual transmission.
  • Demonstrable experience of working well under time pressure as well as the ability to check and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Experience of working within a cold chain or time sensitive multimodal freight forwarding or pharmaceutical industry (ideally in a logistics setting) is highly desirable.
  • Resilience, the ability to build strong working relationships and be a true team player.

Please note this is a full time role, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, shifts between 04:00 to 18:00 and is 100% onsite based out of our Cambridge office.
