Location & Travel: EMEA, ideally based in the UK or the Benelux. Travel: 80% of travel across the EMEA region mainly North Europe (UK, Ireland, Benelux and Nordics). Depending on the location, an average of 3 overnights per week is expected.
Position Summary: Join our team as a Field Application Specialist where you will be the vital link between cutting‑edge spatial biology technology and the scientists who use it. In this dynamic role, you’ll combine your scientific expertise with customer‑facing skills to train researchers, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and shape the future of our products through direct customer feedback. With extensive travel across diverse markets, you’ll be instrumental in expanding the impact of innovative life science solutions worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train and support customers in operating the setup, developing protocols, panels, and implementing staining assays properly.
- Attend conferences, symposia and customer meetings and present the product and its applications with scientific and technical depth.
- Investigate problems at customer sites and resolve them in collaboration with the Technical Support Team, Service Engineers, and where needed, the Product Management and R&D teams.
- Collaborate effectively with the Sales team to plan and execute pre‑ and post‑sales support.
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with customers via proactive and regular visits or calls.
- Remote employees are required to travel to the Swiss site on request to deliver configured product demos for prospects.
- Identify and keep track of all details and feedback at the customer site to the broader Marketing, Product Management and R&D teams.
- Help define customer requirements and applications for new products.
Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- Master or PhD degree in Biology, Life Sciences, Bioengineering, Medicine, or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience in in‑situ techniques including immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, in‑situ hybridization, multiomics or microscopy (strongly desired).
- Experience in image analysis spatial data is a strong plus.
- Prior experience supporting customers in a highly technical field, with demonstrated commitment to customer service.
- Independent, confident, and creative in running experiments in a laboratory.
- Good listener, people‑oriented, providing advice and solutions, and demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
- Adaptability to a dynamic environment.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Enjoys travelling.
- Fluency in oral and written English is required; additional language skills (German, Italian, or French) highly desired.
