Overview
Binnies is looking for a member to join its hydraulic design team, specializing in water and wastewater projects across the UK and abroad. The candidate will work on diverse projects for UK water companies, the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and international clients in Canada, Hong King, Singapore, and Australia.
Responsibilities
- Undertake hydraulic design of water and wastewater facilities
- Complete and supervise hydraulic profile calculations for treatment plants
- Conduct transient (surge) analysis of pipelines
- Prepare technical reports
- Liaise with clients and external organisations
- Deliver project tasks on budget and programme
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Engineering
- Chartered status or working towards Chartership in ICE, IMechE, or CIWEM
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of hydraulics
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Effective communication with team members and external organisations
- Ability to apply knowledge to non-standard situations
- Strong written communication skills, producing high-quality reports
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge and experience in water or wastewater treatment plant hydraulics
- Knowledge and experience in transient/surge analysis
- Experience with programming or macro writing
- Ability to read and mark up design drawings
- Willingness to work in Redhill, Surrey, at least occasionally
