Binnies is looking for a Graduate Network Modeller to join our Consultancy team in Chester, working on a range of exciting water and wastewater projects across the UK and internationally.
As a Graduate Network Modeller, you'll play a part in helping water companies understand and improve their drainage networks. Using specialist modelling software, you'll help investigate flooding, assess the impact of population growth on existing infrastructure and identify opportunities to improve water quality and protect the environment.
You'll gain hands-on experience in building and developing computer models, analysing data and exploring engineering solutions to real-world challenges. Working alongside experienced engineers and modellers, you'll receive training, guidance and support to develop your technical knowledge and build a strong foundation for your career.
No previous experience in network modelling is necessary. We're looking for someone with curiosity, a willingness to learn and an interest in using data and technology to help solve some of the challenges facing the water industry.
Job Responsibilities
- Developing and building computer models of drainage networks using specialist software, including InfoWorks ICM.
- Checking and verifying models to ensure they meet the required standards and provide reliable results for our clients.
- Analysing and interpreting data to help understand how drainage networks perform and identify potential issues.
- Preparing information and instructions for survey contractors to support data collection and investigations.
- Supporting the development and assessment of engineering solutions to address flooding, network capacity and environmental challenges.
- Preparing technical reports and presenting findings to support project delivery.
- Working with colleagues and senior members of the team to deliver projects to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards.
- Contributing ideas, sharing knowledge and developing your understanding of the wider water and wastewater industry.
As you develop your experience, you'll be encouraged to take on increasing responsibility and contribute to a variety of projects, helping you build your technical and professional skills.
About You
We're interested in graduates who are enthusiastic about starting a career in the water industry and are keen to learn, develop and make a difference.
You don't need to have previous experience in network modelling or specialist software. We'll provide the training and support you need. What matters most is your approach to learning, your ability to think analytically and your enthusiasm for tackling new challenges.
