Binnies’s Water Services team is growing, and we’re looking for experienced Project Managers of all levels to help deliver some of the UK’s most important water infrastructure programmes. This is your chance to play a defining role in shaping the next generation of water assets — from small infrastructure improvements to large-scale and nationally significant water resource schemes. We have a growing portfolio of projects with clients in the Midlands and North of England, including Anglian Water, Severn Trent Water and Yorkshire Water.

We offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid, office‑based or home‑working options, depending on your preference and project needs.

Our Work:

Our teams deliver multidisciplinary engineering, environmental and programme-wide solutions across the UK water sector. This includes civil, process and MEICA engineering, environmental assessment, modelling and nature-based solutions. You will work within a collaborative environment alongside technical specialists, commercial professionals and programme leaders delivering projects covering a wide variety of disciplines and size. We aim to create a fair, inclusive recruitment process and encourage applications from individuals with varied experiences, backgrounds and ways of thinking.

The Opportunity:

As a Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of engineering and consultancy projects from concept through to completion — managing scope, programme, cost, risk, quality and client outcomes. Projects typically range from feasibility and optioneering studies through outline design phases, supporting clients in developing and delivering capital investment programmes. We actively welcome applicants from consultancy or engineering environments delivering small to medium-sized or complex multidisciplinary projects. You will work as part of a team of project managers and will be well supported.

Typical tasks for our project managers include:

  • Lead project delivery across scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk and stakeholder management
  • Manage NEC PSC contracts
  • Build strong, trusted client relationships through regular communication, clear reporting, and collaborative problem-solving
  • Identify, manage and mitigate technical, commercial and programme risks
  • Lead proposals, cost estimates and commercial reviews for new opportunities
  • Develop effective resource plans and delivery strategies
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems while driving continuous improvement
  • Coach, mentor and support the development of colleagues across project teams

About You:

We’re looking for a confident, proactive project leader with strong consultancy experience and a collaborative mindset. You will bring:

  • Experience delivering engineering or consultancy projects (any scale)
  • A professional qualification in Project Management and/or an engineering discipline
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating technical inputs
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness within a consultancy environment
  • Proficiency with programme management tools such as MS Project
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat and follow-on work

Experience within the UK water sector is highly desirable. Applicants from other regulated infrastructure sectors (energy, highways, rail or utilities) with strong consultancy project delivery experience will also be considered.
