About The Role
- Provide technical support to catchment management and water quality projects, including the review and application of water quality modelling tools.
- Produce Water Framework Directive Compliance Assessments to support environmental assessments.
- Input into Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP) water resources and water quality management projects, including data analysis and interpretation.
- Design and coordinate water monitoring programmes in line with best practice (e.g. groundwater and surface water quality surveys, water level surveys, geomorphology surveys).
- Provide input to designs for river restoration, Integrated Constructed Wetlands and Natural Flood Risk Management projects.
- Advise on the implications for the water environment from engineering designs, and develop mitigation and enhancement opportunities.
- Advise on catchment management planning/schemes/projects.
- Write all stages of impact assessments associated with the water environment.
- Check and review others' work.
- Liaise with project teams, clients, stakeholders and the public as required.
- Lineâmanage and mentor more junior staff.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Environmental related degree.
- Understanding of UK legislation associated with water management.
- Experience with industryâstandard water quality modelling tools (e.g. SIMCATâSAGIS).
- Demonstrable knowledge of relevant UK legislation.
- Ability to manage own workload and integrate within the wider environmental team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
