Full-time Permanent

We are seeking a senior leader to take full P&L responsibility for the Binnies UK Flood Coast & Environmental (FCE) business. Reporting to the Binnies UK Managing Director, this role is a member of the UK Leadership Team and is central to delivering the organisation's strategic objectives. The FCE business provides professional services to UK Flood Risk statutory stakeholders and a wide range of environmental services clients.

The role is accountable for delivering and out-performing business KPIs, driving strategy and execution, and achieving sustainable, profitable growth in line with the Binnies business plan. You will lead and embed our ENGAGED culture, values and behaviours, with strong health, safety and wellbeing leadership essential. Visible people leadership, effective communication, senior client relationship development and a strong sector profile are key to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visible, strong leadership in Health, Safety and wellbeing.
  • Serve as a member of the Binnies UK Leadership Team, contributing to the overall business strategy, performance and success.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships within relevant markets and with senior stakeholders, including board members and business owners within client organisations.
  • Develop and promote profitable service offerings, identifying performance improvement and growth opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Responsible for financial management, budgeting, and forecasting; ensuring the P&L meets monthly and quarterly performance targets while contributing to the achievement of Binnies UK's overall business objectives.
  • Provide direction and leadership to the P&L workforce, while contributing to People leadership across the wider Binnies UK business.
  • Oversee performance management, including goal setting, development planning, ongoing feedback, and annual and mid-year performance review processes.
  • Lead and assure contracts negotiation, ensuring appropriate review and scrutiny of scopes and fees, compliance with governance processes, and effective risk management for the P&L.
  • Influences recruitment and workforce planning for the P&L, including hiring, succession planning, promotions and exits, and develops effective training, retention and recognition strategies.
  • Lead the P&L and support the wider business in achieving people metrics and objectives for social value and EDI.

Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience within the environmental, flood risk, or related professional services sector, ideally at a senior leadership level.
  • Proven track record of operating, growing, and developing a business successfully.
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Chartered or equivalent professional accreditation in a relevant discipline is desirable.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience in budgeting, forecasting, and delivering financial targets.
  • Strategic thinker, capable of driving organisational growth and delivering results aligned with business objectives.
  • Track record of fostering a positive, inclusive culture and embedding organisational values.
