Overview
Account Delivery Manager: Local Authorities β role at Binnies. This position focuses on leading local flood risk management services and surface water management for Lead Local Flood Authorities. We are seeking a flood risk manager at Associate Consultant level with a proven track record delivering services, and experience working with or as a consultant for Lead Local Flood Authorities.
Location: Chester; Birmingham; Bradford on Avon; Bristol; Manchester; or Redhill. Contract Type: Full-time or Part-time Permanent.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of local flood risk management services and surface water management for Lead Local Flood Authorities.
- Coordinate, quality assure and lead the delivery of Surface Water Management Plans, Local Flood Risk Management Strategies and Strategic/Outline Business Cases, including brought in service support on operational LLFA functions.
- Lead proposals for local authority work and support the development and implementation of business plans.
- Supervise and mentor early career professionals, managing small teams on project and supervisory bases.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Water & Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
- For geography/science backgrounds: demonstrable experience coordinating, quality assuring and analyzing flood risk datasets, producing flood risk assessment reports, business cases and strategies.
- For engineering backgrounds: demonstrable experience coordinating feasibility assessments, optioneering, design packages, engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and business case reports; oversight of site supervision for engineering projects.
- Experience working within or for Lead Local Flood Authorities (as a stakeholder or consultant).
- Commercial awareness including tendering for flood and coastal work and contract management.
- Experience leading projects/services in the flood and coastal sector to budget, programme and scope with proactive problem-solving.
- Excellent communication with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
Desirable Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Experience managing/supervising junior staff.
- Experience working with flood and coastal risk management stakeholders, including local communities.
- Experience in quality assurance processes, including checking othersβ outputs.
