Binnies, an RSK Group company, is looking for a proactive Information Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting our digital transformation strategy, ensuring that project data is a trusted asset throughout its lifecycle.
We are after someone with a strong background in Information Management (IM), proficient in Common Data Environment (CDE) processes in line with ISO 19650, and skilled with tools like ProjectWise (or similar).
As our Information Manager, you will provide leadership and guidance to manage information across projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards and enhancing digital workflows.
About the Role- Ensure compliance with ISO 19650 standards, particularly in BIM processes, project information protocols, and document control.
- Oversee project information management, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and security.
- Develop and maintain project-specific BIM deliverables: BEPs, Responsibility Matrices, MIDPs.
- Provide strategic guidance on information management best practices to teams and clients.
- Implement and manage IM systems and tools, like ProjectWise, to boost efficiency and data accuracy.
- Collaborate with the digital team to ensure integrated and optimised information systems.
- Coach project teams in IM & BIM, fostering a culture of digital excellence.
- Lead IM function within projects, collaborating with BIM/CAD, Document Control, Project Controls, HSW, GIS, and design leads for seamless workflows.
- Support business development and bid preparation within your technical domain.
- Ensure data governance and security in line with organisational and legal requirements.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging tools, and regulations in engineering and water sectors.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, optimising internal IM processes and systems.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Represent the IM function in client reviews, audits, and coordination meetings.
- 5+ years experience in Information Management within engineering, construction, or professional services.
- Proficiency in IM software tools (e.g., ProjectWise).
- Strong understanding of ISO 19650 and its application in BIM and project information management.
- Knowledge of information security principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong initiative, able to work collaboratively and independently to improve IM practices.
- Degree, HND, or equivalent in Information Management, Engineering, or related field.
- ISO 19650 certification or equivalent BIM/IM frameworks.
- Understanding of project control functions (cost, planning) and their relation to IM.
- Familiarity with data governance, risk management, and legal compliance.
