Relief Lecturer in Counselling

UHI Orkney is seeking applications for the position of Relief Lecturer in Counselling. The role offers hours on an as-and-when-required basis, at a rate of £23.64 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance). The successful candidate must have recent experience in teaching or supporting others within the core skills area of counselling, with up-to-date knowledge of best practices. Applicants should be educated to at least degree level (SCQF level 9) or equivalent in a relevant subject. Registration with GTC Scotland is required, and a recognised teaching qualification is preferred but not mandatory. Applicants without a recognised teaching qualification will need to apply for Provisional (Conditional) Registration with GTCS Scotland if appointed. This position involves teaching and supporting students, with potential opportunities to lecture on curricula at FE and HE levels across the department, including assessment of student learning needs. The role requires membership of the PVG Scheme for regulated work with children, and applicants should be able to travel efficiently within Orkney to meet operational needs.
