Marine Services and Transportation - Westray
Relief Airfield Attendant, Rescue and Fire Fighting Crew
Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
£15.03 / £15.45 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance). A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Provide airfield attendant, rescue and fire fighting services while receiving and dispatching flights to the Island Airfield.
- Handle baggage and, if necessary, operate the fire tender.
- Maintain apron control and keep the airfield buildings clean and tidy.
- Operate the phone/radio transmitter and inspect runways and the airfield in general.
- Provide rescue and fire fighting and first aid services in an emergency as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Applicants should hold a full and current driving licence to drive a car/small van in the UK; if a full licence is not held, a current provisional licence is required and you must achieve a full licence within 2 years of appointment.
- Prospective applicants must be resident on Westray as you will be required to respond at short notice and during evenings/weekends.
