Glaitness School is a mainstream primary with additional resourcing to support pupils with a wide variety of learning needs. We require an enthusiastic and independent person who would enjoy being part of an inclusive, whole‑school team.
Within the additional support needs provision, we provide significant and creative adaptation to the curriculum and learning experiences for children and young people who have moderate to severe complex needs. Our children and young people are also very well supported by experienced and dedicated Support for Learning Assistants.
The above post involves leading a team within the class and contributing to wider school improvements. The learning environment includes play‑based and multi‑sensory approaches. A very child‑centred approach is used to meet the individual needs of the pupils. Some of our learning experiences for children take place outwith the school environment in the wider community.
Supporting close partnerships, working with parents/carers and other key partners is essential to this role. You must be registered, or in the process of registering, with the General Teaching Council for Scotland for the above post. This post is subject to Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG for working in a regulated role with children.
The salary applicable is based on the SNCT Salary Tables plus Distant Islands Allowance. We offer a generous relocation package.
