The opportunity: We are seeking a highly motivated, established solicitor at least 8+ PQE preferably with a following, to work within our international child abduction/contact and modern family offering. You will handle a varied, often urgent caseload—shaping strategy on cross-jurisdictional disputes, and working to grow the practice area with support from talented junior solicitors, as well as undertaking regular supervision of the junior members of the team.
Skills & Experience:
- Qualified solicitor with an excellent track record and strong academic background
- Significant experience in cross-border child abduction/contact and modern family (surrogacy, adoption, assisted conception, single parents, LGBTQ+ couples)
- ICACU membership (desirable)
- Proven work on abduction law and international/domestic relocation (essential)
- International adoption/modern family experience (advantage)
- Established referral network, including connections with relevant charities, and the ability to generate their own work (advantage)
- Knowledge of Legal Aid (essential)
- Resolution Specialist Accreditation in abduction or Law Society Advanced Accreditation in child abduction/wardship (essential)
- Children Panel accreditation (advantage) or a clear intention to pursue
