Overview of key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Drafting:
    • Various Legal Aid claims/bills
    • Inter parties Bill of Costs
    • Schedule of Costs
  • Preparation of:
    • Points of Replies
    • Costs budgets
  • Negotiating settlement of costs.

In addition you will provide support and advise to fee earners and to the Billing Team where required.

Skills/knowledge requirements

  • Working as a Costs Draftsman with a minimum of 3 years experience, either in-house or for a specialist costs drafting company;
  • Excellent communication and IT Skills
  • Understanding of CPR and Case Law
  • The ability to work on your own with the minimum of supervision
