We are seeking a part‑time Administrative Assistant to work within our Public Law Department. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the department's team manager and will work 2 days per week.
Overview of key responsibilities:
- Become familiar with the firm’s accounting procedures, maintenance of records, and other administrative requirements.
- Support the team manager in the preparation of bills and management of disbursements on files.
- Liaise with barristers’ chambers to obtain fee notes.
- Manage files and diary.
- Familiarise with and observe the firm’s internal file opening and closure procedures, both electronically and manually.
- Assist with the department’s archiving as directed by the team manager.
- Coordinate with internal and external IT support for any technology needs of the team.
Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
- Experience in an administrative or office setting, or in another setting that has helped develop transferable skills needed to handle complex information and interact effectively with colleagues and the public (essential).
- Good typing skills.
- Legal experience and knowledge of legal‑aid procedures is not essential but is an advantage.
