About us

Bindbridge is pioneering sustainable agriculture through artificial intelligence (AI)-powered molecular glue discovery. With backing from leading venture capitalists including Speedinvest and Nucleus Capital , we are building a computational platform to bring targeted protein degradation to agriculture. Our first goal is to discover herbicides that revolutionise crop protection while minimising environmental impact.

The role

We are seeking a biologist to join our team and play a pivotal role in the discovery and experimental validation of novel crop protection products. You will work at the intersection of plant science, computational chemistry, AI, and agricultural innovation, helping solve some of the world\’s most pressing food security challenges.

Key responsibilities

Review and synthesise academic literature and recommend protein targets for degradation across agricultural applications (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, traits).

Design and oversee experimental assays with contract research organisations (CROs) to validate the efficacy and safety of candidate molecules.

Apply bioinformatics (phylogenetics, proteomics, plasmid design) to guide target selection and evaluation.

Collaborate with AI engineers and chemists to integrate biological insights into degrader design and discovery pipelines.

Engage with customers and partners on target selection, assay development, and result interpretation.

Build relationships with academic collaborators to expand the scope of applications.

What you will bring

PhD (or equivalent industry experience) in plant science, molecular biology, or a related field.

Proven experience in crop protection research and development (R&D), from target selection through to experimental validation, with an understanding of intellectual property (IP), regulatory, and commercial considerations.

Strong expertise in plant molecular biology and bioinformatics to support discovery and validation.

Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams across biology, chemistry, and AI.

Nice to have

Experience with ubiquitin-based protein degradation technologies such as proteolysis targeting chimeras (PROTACs) or molecular glues.

Industry background in crop protection or ag-biotech.

Strong publication or patent record.

Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Exposure to AI-driven molecular design.

Competitive salary plus equity commensurate with experience.

Fully remote work arrangement with quarterly in-person team meetings.

Support for conference attendance, publications, and patent filings.

Be part of a founding team shaping a new era of AI-driven agriculture.

Contribute directly to global food security and environmental sustainability.

Join a culture that values curiosity, rigour, and speed. We believe in transparency, ownership, and teamwork across science and engineering.

If you want to apply biology at the frontier of AI and agriculture, you will thrive at Bindbridge.

Application process

Our process is designed to be clear, respectful of your time, and a good reflection of how we work:

CV review

We look for relevant expertise and motivation to join an early-stage, mission-driven team.

First interview

A conversation with a team member to learn more about your background and give you a chance to ask questions about Bindbridge.

Second/third interview (technical)

A deep dive into your scientific expertise, including discussion of target selection, assay design, and bioinformatics approaches.

References & offer

We check references, then move quickly to an offer if we are aligned.

Communicate clearly at every stage.

Look for your strengths, not just your gaps.

Be transparent with feedback and open to yours.
