We are working with a well-established and highly respected civil engineering and infrastructure contractor to assist them in hiring a Site Engineer for their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of rail and civil engineering projects across Scotland. Working on a variety of infrastructure schemes, you will play a key role in delivering projects safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards, while developing your career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

As the Site Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Setting out and surveying works in accordance with project specifications and design drawings.
  • Ensuring all engineering activities are delivered safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Maintaining accurate site records, quality documentation, and as-built information.
  • Supporting the Site Agent and Project Manager with programme delivery and technical queries.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring work is completed to the required quality standards.
  • Assisting with temporary works, permits, inspections, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or rail infrastructure projects.
  • Strong setting out skills using Leica, Trimble, or similar surveying equipment.
  • A sound understanding of quality assurance processes, engineering documentation, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships on site.
  • A relevant Civil Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, or Degree), with CSCS certification. Experience working within a rail environment and holding PTS certification would be advantageous but is not essential.
