My client is seeking an Associate Director – Mechanical Engineering to lead the delivery of complex projects across sectors including data centres, commercial, advanced manufacturing, and mixed-use developments. The business has a strong and growing presence in the global data centre sector, delivering hyperscale and colocation projects internationally. This offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to one of the fastest-growing and most technically advanced areas of engineering. Data centre experience is not required, but an interest in mission critical and high-performance environments is highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design delivery across all project stages
  • Act as senior technical lead in client and design team meetings
  • Oversee project performance (commercial, programme, risk, resourcing)
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Support business development and client relationships
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience
  • Strong background in complex building services projects
  • Knowledge of HVAC, cooling systems, and energy-efficient design
  • Understanding of sustainability and Net Zero principles
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
