Trainee MEP Planner Our client is a large Tier One M&E Contractor that operates throughout the UK, and they're looking to take on a Trainee or Experienced M&E Planner to work in Plymouth, numerous projects but mainly on their Healthcare Project.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating project programmes, ensuring timely delivery and efficient resource allocation.

This role involves working closely with both office-based and site-based staff, contractors, and suppliers to ensure consistency and alignment across all phases of MEP projects.

This may suite someone that has trained in the M&E sector but is perhaps not looking to become a Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Duties for an experienced Planner

  • Develop, maintain, and review project programmes at pre-contract and post-contract stages.
  • Create progress reports and revise project schedules and forecasts using planning/programme software such as Microsoft Project or Asta.
  • Break down large projects into manageable phases of development.
  • Use project management tools to plan and manage project timeframes effectively.
  • Collaborate with Estimators to calculate resources required for projects.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential changes in project timelines.
  • Meet with contractors and suppliers to discuss and review programme-related issues.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of construction processes, particularly in roofing and façade works.
  • Coordinate between office and site teams to ensure consistency in programmes and sequencing.
  • Produce procurement and design programmes aligned with agreed construction schedules.
  • Conduct critical reviews of programmes for Extension of Time (EOT) requests, identifying delays, hold-ups, and additional works.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of EOT/Compensation Events requirements to ensure accurate programme adjustments.
