A leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior / Associate Quantity Surveyor to join its growing Oxford office. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step into an Associate-level position, or an established Associate seeking a fresh challenge within a highly regarded consultancy. Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, you'll provide strategic cost consultancy services to clients throughout the entire project lifecycle while helping to shape the continued growth of the Oxford office. You'll enjoy a high level of autonomy, build long-term client relationships and play a key role in mentoring junior team members, all whilst working on a varied range of residential, commercial, education, healthcare, industrial and mixed-use developments.
Role Overview
- Leading the delivery of pre and post-contract Quantity Surveying services across multiple commissions
- Preparing feasibility studies, cost plans, budgets and financial appraisals
- Advising clients on procurement strategies and contract selection
- Managing tender processes, analysing tender returns and preparing recommendations
- Administering JCT and NEC contracts throughout project delivery
- Producing valuations, cost reports, cash flow forecasts and commercial advice
- Managing variations, change control and commercial risk
- Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
- Acting as the commercial lead during client, contractor and design team meetings
- Managing and mentoring Assistant, Graduate and Quantity Surveyors
- Supporting business development and maintaining long-term client relationships
- Assisting with the strategic growth and development of the Oxford office
About You
- Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Associate Quantity Surveyor within a construction consultancy
- Proven experience delivering both pre and post-contract Quantity Surveying services
- Strong knowledge of JCT contracts, with NEC experience advantageous
- Excellent cost planning, commercial management and financial reporting skills
- Confident managing multiple projects and leading client relationships
- Experience mentoring and developing junior surveyors
- Strong commercial awareness with a proactive approach to problem solving
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- MRICS Chartered status is highly desirable
- Full UK driving licence
