Mint Selection are partnered with a leading organisation within the energy sector to recruit an experienced Electrical Supervisor for an immediate start on a utility-scale BESS project based in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a major energy infrastructure project, taking responsibility for supervising all electrical construction activities while ensuring works are delivered safely, to the highest quality standards, on programme and in line with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all electrical construction activities across a utility-scale BESS project, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project programme.
- Act as the primary point of contact for electrical subcontractors, providing technical support, resolving site issues and ensuring effective coordination between all project stakeholders.
- Oversee the installation of LV/MV systems, switchgear, transformers, battery systems, containment, cabling, earthing and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, industry standards and project quality requirements.
- Take ownership of QA/QC activities including inspections, quality walk-downs, ITP compliance, punch listing, red-line mark-ups, snagging and management of non-conformances through to close out.
- Support the preparation and review of quality documentation including inspection records, test packs, commissioning documentation, as-built drawings and final handover dossiers.
- Monitor workmanship and construction progress, identifying risks, delays, design clashes or quality concerns and implementing corrective actions where required.
- Conduct toolbox talks, daily briefings and safety inspections while promoting a strong health, safety and environmental culture across site.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with RAMS, permit-to-work systems, project HSEQ procedures and relevant legislation.
- Maintain accurate site records, inspection documentation and quality reports whilst ensuring documentation is completed in line with project requirements.
- Support the Construction Manager with short-term planning, programme updates, contractor coordination meetings and progress reporting.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical and commissioning teams to ensure seamless project delivery and successful energisation and handover.
- Assist with commissioning, testing and energisation activities, ensuring all electrical systems are fully inspected, tested and completed to specification prior to handover.
Experience Required
- Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor on utility-scale energy, power, industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience delivering BESS, Solar, HV Substation, Grid Connection, Renewables or Power Generation projects is highly desirable.
- Strong QA/QC background with experience of ITPs, inspections, NCR management, quality documentation, test packs and project handover.
- Excellent understanding of LV/MV electrical installations including switchgear, transformers, containment, cabling, earthing and protection systems.
- Experience managing electrical subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary site teams.
- Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures including RAMS, permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work.
- Ability to identify construction risks, resolve technical issues and drive programme whilst maintaining high quality standards.
- Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills with the ability to build strong relationships across project teams.
