About the Role: A Project Manager – BMS / BEMS / Smart Buildings is required to manage the successful delivery of major building controls and intelligent building projects across London. The Project Manager will take responsibility for project delivery from preconstruction and design coordination through procurement, installation, commissioning, testing and final handover. The Project Manager will work closely with engineers, software specialists, commissioning teams, subcontractors, clients and wider construction teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the required technical standard. The role will involve managing projects incorporating BMS, BEMS, HVAC controls, energy management and wider smart building technologies.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing BMS and BEMS projects from preconstruction through to completion
- Coordinating design, procurement, installation and commissioning activities
- Managing project programmes, budgets and delivery milestones
- Working closely with BMS engineers, controls engineers and software teams
- Coordinating subcontractors and specialist suppliers
- Managing client relationships and regular project communication
- Attending site meetings and coordinating activities with principal contractors and other trades
- Monitoring progress against programme and resolving delivery issues
- Managing project risks and maintaining appropriate records
- Overseeing final testing, client witnessing and handover
- Supporting ongoing technical and operational requirements where required
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous Project Management experience within BMS, BEMS or building controls
- Strong understanding of BMS and HVAC control systems
- Previous involvement in commissioning and handover of BMS or BEMS systems
- Good understanding of project programmes, budgets and contractual requirements
- Experience coordinating engineers, subcontractors and specialist suppliers
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills
- Good understanding of smart buildings, energy management or Master Systems Integration
- Experience with BMS platforms such as Tridium, Trend, Distech, SAUTER or similar would be advantageous
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A practical understanding of construction and building services environments
