Are you a Section Engineer with strong QA and below-ground civils experience, looking for your next contract in the Leicester area? Carrington West is working with an established contractor delivering a significant programme of works at a major treatment plant in Leicester, and we're looking for a Section Engineer to join the site delivery team.
You’ll be taking ownership of engineering and quality across your section of works, with a particular focus on pipe laying, ducting/duct installations, underground services and associated civils. This is a hands‑on delivery role where you’ll work closely with the wider construction team and subcontractors to keep works moving safely, accurately and to programme.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Completing and managing QA checks, ITPs and inspection records
- Overseeing pipe laying, ducting and below-ground installations
- Writing and managing permits to work / permits to dig
- Identifying and managing risks associated with existing underground services
- Reviewing drawings and raising RFIs
- Setting out and engineering control
- Maintaining accurate as-builts and site records
- Coordinating subcontractors and resolving engineering issues
- Reviewing RAMS and ensuring works meet required safety and quality standards
We’re particularly interested in engineers who have worked around complex underground services and understand the controls required before excavation and installation works begin. Previous water sector experience would be a strong advantage, particularly across clean water, wastewater, treatment works, pipelines or pumping stations, although engineers with strong transferable heavy civils/utilities experience will also be considered.
You’ll ideally have:
- Section/Site Engineer experience
- Strong QA knowledge
- Pipe laying/ducting experience
- Permit writing experience
- Underground services knowledge
- CSCS
- Relevant Civil Engineering qualification
