A growing multi-disciplinary consultancy in Leeds is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer who can genuinely take the reins, leading projects, shaping delivery, and being a trusted face for clients.
YOUR NEW ROLE
- You’ll own structural projects from first concept through to construction, working across a mix of building and infrastructure schemes.
- The role suits someone who’s confident running programmes, managing stakeholders, and setting the technical standard for the team.
Day-to-day
- Lead structural design and delivery, driving technical quality, programme and commercial outcomes.
- Act as the key contact for clients, contractors and wider project partners.
- Carry out and review structural analysis and design in steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
- Produce and check reports, specifications, calculations and drawings.
- Undertake site inspections and support construction-stage queries.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs and manage project teams.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, reviewing work and supporting progression.
- Allocate workloads and help manage team resources.
- Contribute to fee proposals, client development and repeat business.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered (MIStructE or MICE) preferred; near-Chartered also considered.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong experience within a UK structural consultancy.
- Solid technical capability across all main materials, with proven delivery from concept to site.
- Working knowledge of Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds or similar.
- Experience managing multiple projects, budgets and client expectations.
- Confident leading and mentoring engineers and reviewing others’ designs.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to make clear, independent technical decisions.
- Strong communicator who stays calm under pressure and works well in multi-disciplinary teams.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- £48,000 – £52,000.
