As the Purchasing Manager youll be working within a fast-paced team, where you will be responsible for leading the purchasing function, developing a high-performing team, managing stock and supplier relationships, and ensuring purchasing strategies support wider business objectives.

Responsibilities as the Purchasing Manager

  • Lead, motivate and develop the Purchasing team, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement.
  • Take full accountability for the purchasing function, stock control and team output.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms and review supplier performance.
  • Oversee stock purchasing from both parent company and third-party suppliers.
  • Manage import procedures and ensure efficient stock availability.
  • Work closely with the Logistics team to coordinate transport, warehouse capacity and incoming stock.

The successful Purchasing Manager will have

  • Previous experience in a Purchasing Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing and developing teams within a purchasing or supply chain environment.
  • Knowledge of purchasing, stock management, logistics and transport coordination.
  • Experience of import procedures and supplier management.
  • A successful track record of negotiating with suppliers.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to build relationships across all areas of the business.
