Orion Group are supporting a successful Tier 1 Construction & Infrastructure client to source an experienced, commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor with a passion for delivering high-impact commercial construction projects.
As the Senior QS you will play a pivotal role in one of Scotland’s most exciting new healthcare developments.
Initially based in the Glasgow or Inverness office youwill be involved in commercial activities during the tender and pre-construction phase.
Upon contract award, in late 2027, you will transition to asite-based role in the highlands, where you will be part of the commercial delivery of the project on the ground.
Core duties will include but not limited to
- Prepare and review estimates, tender submissions, and contract negotiations
- Drive financial performance, cost control, and value engineering initiatives
- Manage risk, procurement, supply chain relationships, and commercial reporting
- Act as a mentor and leader to commercial staff, championing professional development
- Ensure compliance withthe businesses governance, Group Minimum Commercial Expectations, and Cultural Framework
- Who we're looking for
- A qualified Senior Quantity Surveyor with a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
- Membership of RICS, ICES, or CIOB (or working towards)
- Proven experience in Healthcare within the construction sector or large Commercial Builds within the UK.
- Skilled in contract negotiations, and cost reporting
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts, procurement strategies, and digital tools Benefits
