A leading main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Manager to oversee a new area of works on an ongoing project in Cambridge.
This is a key site-based position for someone who is confident working autonomously, taking ownership of an area and driving delivery through to completion.
The Role
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a designated work area.
- Coordinate subcontractors, site teams and construction activities.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.
- Manage site progress, sequencing and coordination with the wider project team.
- Identify and resolve technical and delivery issues proactively.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety and site compliance.
- Work independently while keeping the wider project team fully informed.
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager / Site Manager with a main contractor.
- Strong ability to work independently and take ownership of a work area.
- Civils / groundworks experience preferred, although relevant construction backgrounds will be considered.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of programme, quality and health & safety requirements.
- Able to work effectively within a busy live construction environment.
- Must be willing to undergo prison security vetting as part of the project requirements.
