About The Role
The Building and Maintenance Officer is responsible for the effective day-to-day operation, maintenance and presentation of campus buildings and associated equipment. The role plays a key part in ensuring facilities are safe, functional and well maintained, supporting a high-quality student and staff experience.
What You'll Do
- The role will be focused on building operations and campus support, dealing with maintenance, equipment and contractors, health, safety and local compliance, systems, IT support and operational problem solving and cross-team support and operational flexibility.
What You'll Bring
- Experience of knowledge of maintenance including decoration and minor plumbing and electrical works.
- Experience of using power tools or a willingness to learn.
- Good standard of general education, including English and Mathematics.
- Experience of working in a building, maintenance or facilities environment.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively, responding to changing demands with minimal supervision.
- Confident verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, contractors and service teams.
- Competent digital literacy, including use of record-keeping or operational systems.
- Practical understanding of health and safety requirements relevant to building and maintenance activities.
