About the role
As a Screen & Film Technician, you will play an important role in providing technical support for our specialist Film facilities. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety and compliance of our equipment, setting up technical resources for lessons and events, delivering technical demonstrations, and providing specialised support to our vibrant community of students and staff.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with our Health & Safety team to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Set up technical resources for lessons and events both on campus and at external venues.
- Deliver engaging technical demonstrations to support curriculum delivery.
- Maintain and manage our inventory of technical equipment.
- Conduct routine checks and low-level maintenance of technical equipment.
- Support the induction and training of students, staff, and lecturers on the safe and effective use of our facilities.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience working in the film industry or relevant specialist education provider.
- A competent understanding and application of film facilities with experience of Lighting or Camera equipment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of our dynamic environment.
- Competent digital literacy.
This full-time contract (37.5 hours per week) is shift-based, and involves working on a rota system. The kit room is staffed Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, with shifts available in either the morning or afternoon. Occasional Saturday hours may also be required to support events and open days.
