About the role
We are seeking experienced lecturers and industry experts to join a great team of film professionals in a vibrant and supportive working environment on a freelance basis at our Manchester Campus at MetFilm School.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality education to our students, ensuring they acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in the industry.
What You’ll Do:
•Design, deliver and lead engaging and comprehensive lessons in production design.
•Contribute towards assessment and the marking of student work, providing constructive feedback.
•Stay updated with industry trends and integrate these into the curriculum.
•Mentor and support students, fostering their professional growth.
•Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the course content.
What You’ll Bring:
•A graduate or postgraduate qualification in a film related subject is advantageous but not essential.
•A graduate or postgraduate qualification in education is advantageous but not essential.
•Teaching experience at the higher education level is preferred but not essential.
•Significant industry experience working within an art department.
•Strong communication and organisational skills.
•A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Contractual Hours: Freelance, 2 days per week (Mondays & Fridays)
There are opportunities for regular teaching from 28th September 2026 as well as cover teaching/deputising and guest lecturing on an ad hoc basis.
BIMM provides internal training and professional development for all lecturers, especially those new to teaching. If you already have a graduate or postgraduate qualification then this will be advantageous, but it’s not a barrier.
