About The Role
We are seeking experienced lecturers and industry experts to join our team of film professionals in a vibrant and supportive working environment at MetFilm School Manchester.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality education to our students, ensuring they acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in the industry.
What You’ll Do
- Design, deliver and lead engaging and comprehensive lessons in Film Business and Production
- Contribute towards assessment and the marking of student work, providing constructive feedback
- Stay updated with industry trends and integrate these into the curriculum.
- Mentor and support students, fostering their professional growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the course content.
What You’ll Bring
- A graduate or postgraduate qualification in a film related subject is advantageous but not essential
- A graduate or postgraduate qualification in education is advantageous but not essential.
- Significant teaching experience (at the higher education level is preferred but not essential).
- Significant industry experience in producing, or business is essential.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
- Prior knowledge of copyright, intellectual property, chain of title and contract law, in relation to the film industry
BIMM provides internal training and professional development for all lecturers, especially those new to teaching. If you already have a graduate or postgraduate qualification then this will be advantageous, but it’s not a barrier.
Contractual Hours
Freelance, variable hours depending on subject area and student numbers.
There are opportunities for regular teaching from September 2025 on our BA (Hons) Film Business and Production course as well as cover teaching/deputising and guest lecturing on an ad hoc basis.
