MetFilm School is one of the largest film schools in Europe, running undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across our London, Leeds and Berlin campuses as well as a portfolio of non-accredited courses. Our mission is to inspire a new generation of creative screen professionals and our educational philosophy is defined by the unique and multiple ways in which we bring education and industry together through pedagogy, production and partnerships.
We are seeking experienced lecturers and industry experts to join a great team of film professionals in a vibrant and supportive working environment on a freelance basis at our Manchester Campus at MetFilm School. Opportunities are available for regular teaching starting September 2026, as well as covering teaching/deputising and guest lecturing on an ad hoc basis. BIMM provides internal training and professional development for all lecturers, especially those new to teaching.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality education to our students, ensuring they acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in the industry.
What You’ll Do:- Design, deliver and lead engaging and comprehensive lessons in producing.
- Contribute towards assessment and the marking of student work, providing constructive feedback.
- Stay updated with industry trends and integrate these into the curriculum.
- Mentor and support students, fostering their professional growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the course content.
- A graduate or postgraduate qualification in a film related subject is advantageous but not essential.
- A graduate or postgraduate qualification in education is advantageous but not essential.
- Teaching experience at the higher education level is preferred but not essential.
- Significant industry experience in producing or business is essential.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
- Prior knowledge of copyright, intellectual property, chain of title and contract law, in relation to the film industry.
