A growing building services design team is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support ongoing project demand. This role suits someone confident in delivering coordinated electrical designs across a range of project types while maintaining strong technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys, testing and reporting on existing electrical installations
  • Attend and contribute to technical meetings with multidisciplinary project teams
  • Carry out engineering calculations using relevant software such as Amtech, Pro-Design or similar
  • Prepare tender documentation, technical specifications and associated drawings
  • Support and oversee the technical output of junior team members including trainees, graduates and engineers

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient in producing detailed design specifications and drawings across multiple building sectors
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Good understanding of relevant British Standards and industry regulations
  • Able to manage and prioritise workloads effectively
  • Capable of working to tight deadlines while maintaining high technical accuracy

Background & Qualifications

Essential:

  • HNC/ONC/BTEC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent
  • Solid technical grounding in building services electrical design
  • Demonstrable experience working on a variety of systems and project environments

Desirable:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or similar
  • Ideally 3+ years' experience within a UK building services consultancy
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
