The Manual/CNC Machinist will be responsible for machining compressor components for small batch work in accordance with engineering drawings.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential.
- A Certificate in Machine Shop Technology/Machine Tool Technology or a time-served apprenticeship would be advantageous.
- Experience in manual machining, as well as reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings, is essential.
- Experience working with CNC machines and CAD/CAM software would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Machining components using manual turning, manual mills, lathes, saws, and radial drills.
- Self-inspecting components against drawings and reporting any manufacturing errors to the line manager to agree on corrective action.
- Ensuring production requirements are met in line with the production schedule.
- Monitoring and maintaining tool conditions.
- Providing input to improve run times and reduce downtime, supporting continuous improvement.
- Performing all work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
