About the Role:
Our client, a well-established consultancy specialising in transport planning and highway design, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Fleet office. This is a great opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including Section 278 and Section 38 highway design schemes, across both public and private sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver designs on time and within budget.
- Manage resource allocation to ensure efficient utilisation of the team.
- Collaborate with senior management across offices to support multidisciplinary projects.
- Ensure compliance with relevant authorities, statutory bodies, and design standards such as MCHW and DMRB.
- Review, authorise, and provide feedback on design information and reports.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
- Adhere to Health & Safety legislation, particularly CDM regulations, and actively manage risks.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in Section 278 and Section 38 highway design projects.
- Strong management skills with confidence to lead teams through varied workloads.
- Extensive knowledge of highways technical documents and design guidance (DMRB).
- Experience managing project delivery against programme and budget.
- Ability to mentor and supervise junior staff.
- Competent in highway drainage design and Causeway Flow PDS software.
- Familiarity with Civils 3D CAD software.
- Strong independent judgement and problem-solving skills.
