The people team sits at the heart of BDB. We work closely with leadership, managers and teams across the business to create an environment where people can do their best work and grow their careers.
As People Manager (Europe), you will lead the day to day delivery of the people function activating as the primary partner to managers and supporting the employee lifecycle. You will be instrumental in ensuring people processes run efficiently, that managers feel confident handling people matters, and our employee experience reflects BDB values and pace.
Alongside operational leadership, this role will also support the development of our internal learning capability - helping build practical, digital first learning resources that strengthen management capabilities and career development across the business.
Responsibilities- Act as the primary People partner for junior and mid-level managers to ensure consistent, fair and early resolution of matters.
- Provide expert guidance across the full employee lifecycle including performance management, probations, conduct and grievances.
- Lead employee relations cases with confidence, escalating complex matters where required.
- Coach managers on handling people situations effectively and fairly.
- Ensure issues are addressed early and consistently.
- Oversee the day-to-day delivery of People operations across the UK office, with some global collaboration.
- Work closely with and help develop the People Coordinator to ensure strong operational execution and scalability of processes.
- Maintain accurate people data across systems including HiBob.
- Oversee payroll inputs and benefits administration with external providers.
- Ensure processes remain efficient, accurate and scalable.
- Support the delivery of BDB’s performance and progression processes.
- Coordinate the promotion cycle, ensuring documentation, consistency and accuracy.
- Proactively manage probation processes to address issues early.
- Help translate employee feedback and people data into practical improvements.
- Support the development of practical learning across the business.
- Contribute to building BDB’s internal learning hub (BDB Learn).
- Work with subject matter experts to capture internal knowledge and turn it into accessible learning resources.
- Support delivery of internal training sessions for managers and teams.
- Help embed learning into key lifecycle moments including onboarding, probation and manager development.
- Ensure learning content is practical, relevant and easy to engage with.
- Actively support initiatives that strengthen BDB's culture and engagement.
- Support with internal communications, company updates, and people initiatives.
- Help organise people lead events and engagement activities.
