We’re on the hunt for an experienced and inspiring Senior Creative, a creative problem solver who is experienced in (and obsessed with) helping brands connect to consumers through influencers and creators. They’ll be a key senior member of the team, responsible for developing ideas for creative briefs, working alongside and inspiring other team members and mentoring junior members of the team too. We need someone who’s self-motivated & proactive, consistently providing original solutions to problems they’ve been given, and to problems they’ve proactively uncovered too. This person will understand what consumers see as great content, which creators are currently making it, what it takes to develop it, and how brands can play a part in it. They’ll understand how to develop ideas that are designed to get the best out of creators - giving enough direction to inspire, but leaving enough space for them to add their authentic creative spark too. We’re looking for someone who is unsettled, in that they are in constant pursuit of better. They believe what has been done before is not ‘Best Practice’ but ‘Best so far’. We want to see an obsession with creators, social media and the value they can offer to brands, but we’d also love to see an understanding of what ‘good’ looks like in other brand marketing channels too.

Responsibilities

  • Creative Thinking and Making: You’ll be expected to develop original ideas for BDB's largest and most complex creative briefs across a variety of marketing channels, all powered by influencers and creators.
  • You’ll be confident in crafting initial ideas into well-finessed and considered executions.
  • You’ll develop talkable creative ideas for content, gifting, events, and more established forms of marketing and advertising too.
  • You’ll work simultaneously across a variety of brands, talking to a variety of audiences, in a variety of markets.
  • You’ll be confident working in the role of a creative through every stage of the creative process with autonomy; from initial briefing to production and final delivery. You’ll be confident guiding junior creatives through this process too.
  • You’ll structure, design and present your own presentations (usually in Google Slides) composed of a compelling narrative, great content examples/references, and impactful slide design.

Leadership, Direction & Mentorship

  • You’ll set creative direction and give feedback on smaller creative tasks within a response for a Junior Creative.
  • You’ll be comfortable line-managing junior creative talent when the business need arises, guiding them to achieve great work and setting out clear goals for career progression.
  • As a senior member of the creative team, you’ll play a more vocal role with the wider agency when it comes to knowledge sharing and advocating for creativity - inspiring everyone to strive for more creativity in all of our responses.

Client Relations

  • You’ll build strong creative relationships with key clients becoming their trusted expert when it comes to creativity.

Skills & Attributes

  • Proven experience of developing great conceptual work in the social space and creator/influencer space.
  • A proven ability to use culture to inspire your ideas.
  • You will be expected to confidently work in partnership with other creative & design team members and share learnings and knowledge with the entire agency.
  • You’ll be experienced in working with Strategists, Client leads, Producers and Finance Managers in a general day-to-day capacity.
  • You’ll be expected to understand the landscape of marketing in general, the specifics of influencer marketing and the roles of the different agencies within that landscape.
  • You’ll also be expected to know a wide selection of creators/influencers and the content they create, and continue building this knowledge throughout your role at BDB.
  • You should also have a great knowledge of social/digital media channels; including those less adopted by the masses (e.g. Discord).

About Billion Dollar Boy

Billion Dollar Boy (BDB) is a global creator agency, using industry-leading tech solutions to deliver integrated, creator-led advertising and end-to-end campaign management. Founded in 2014, Billion Dollar Boy was among the first global influencer agencies and now has offices in London, New York and New Orleans. Since its inception, BDB has partnered with some of the world’s leading brands - including Heineken, King, Nintendo, PepsiCo and L’Oréal - connecting them with more than 10,000 vetted content creators. BDB client campaigns have been awarded at the Cannes Lions, Influencer Marketing Awards, Webby Awards, Shortys, The Drum Awards and Adweek.

Our Culture

Our mission is to redefine advertising by reflecting culture through the voices of creators, where creativity is democratized, and technology is the driving force behind impact. We champion equity and inclusion, and believe that diversity sparks creativity, problem-solving, and well-being. Along with fostering these values, BDB is committed to being the most innovative creator marketing agency in the world through initiatives like FiveTwoNine and Muse.

Our Values

We believe one of the biggest issues advertising agencies face is reputational. Our vision is to change that by setting a new standard of advertising with a greater social purpose, where creativity is democratised, and technology drives efficiency and effectiveness. Billion Dollar Boy has identified industry problems and potential solutions, leading to a set of Future Behaviours that should be adopted by every agency to positively change advertising as a whole:

  • Work with brands, but on behalf of people - Brands are clients, but agencies must prioritise people’s interests, educating brands on consumer importance and acting on behalf of the people.
  • Seek out less heard voices, act upon what they tell you - Diverse opinions and perspectives improve work and the world. Agencies must actively listen to and act on a broad range of voices.
  • Be fair to everyone, then you’ll have nothing to hide - Agencies should ensure objective and transparent reward structures to promote equality.
  • Treat your clients like friends and employees like best friends - Clients provide opportunities, but employees turn them into work. Agencies must prioritise employees' wellbeing.
  • Solve problems with a curious mind - Creativity involves original ideas. Agencies should explore unproven solutions and take risks for better outcomes, even if things aren’t broken.
  • Empower employees with a framework for freedom - Provide supportive structures without restrictions, allowing employees to make decisions and control their career progression within clear business parameters.

Equal Opportunities

We encourage employees to be open and confident and appreciate that every member of the team makes a vital difference. Billion Dollar Boy embraces equality, diversity and inclusion and will seek to promote these benefits in all of our business activities. When recruiting new employees or when affording our current employees with opportunities for promotion, it means that we will:

  • Recruit, develop and retain the most talented people, regardless of their background and make best use of their talents;
  • Not discriminate unlawfully against any person;
  • Select the best person for the job in terms of qualifications and abilities.

This sets out our approach to equal opportunities and the avoidance of discrimination at work.

A part of what we offer at BDB is a considerate suite of competitive benefits, which will be discussed with you throughout the interview process.
