Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the hygiene team during the required shift and provide knowledge in relation to methods of cleaning to drive continuous improvement.
- Support the Operations team in relation to hygiene requirements and best practice.
- Manage daily tasks to ensure Food Safety and Integrity is maintained at all times in relation to hygiene and GMP.
- Play an active part in promoting and maintaining the Food Integrity culture.
- Represent the Hygiene function during Customer visits and 3rd party audits where required.
- Verify hygiene operatives' competency on shift.
- Ensure the hygiene cleaning schedule is adhered to.
- Manage day-to-day tasks completed by hygiene operatives.
- Investigate and respond to hygiene-related non-conformance in line with relevant procedures.
- Support with investigations into any out of specification food contact or environmental swab fails.
- Plan and manage cleaning of factory equipment including but not limited to tins, racks, and frames.
- Monitor all hygiene consumables on site and escalate appropriately for replenishment stock.
- Maintain hygiene traceability documentation including the presentation of hygiene traceability to Customers and 3rd party auditors where necessary.
- Investigate any hygiene-related downtime on the shift.
- Provide hands-on support to the hygiene team ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Monitor staff competency and escalate training needs.
- Plan and lead on-the-job staff training.
- Manage staff performance.
- Attend planning meetings when required.
- Select appropriate chemicals, consumables, and methods of cleaning.
We are looking for a dynamic, confident individual with hygiene experience who has worked in food manufacturing. You’ll have demonstrable planning and organisational skills coupled with good knowledge or qualification in food safety, hygiene practices, and cleaning chemicals.
