Hours of Work: 05:45 - 15:00, Monday - Friday (43.75hrs)

Salary: £12.95/ph rising to £13.90 in September

Reporting to: Production Area Manager

The Role:

  • Train all team members to be fully competent at all aspects of their roles, ensuring there are sufficient skills to cover holidays and absence. Maintain training records for each team member.
  • Liaise closely with other production sections on supply and availability of materials. Ensure the timely supply of materials to the production section.
  • Establish and maintain accurate records of production standards, including optimal production rates and changeover times.
  • Monitor actual production performance against target and planned production. Implement improvement plans to increase production efficiencies, reduce downtime, and improve yields.
  • Record downtime and actual run rates. Analyse lost time reports and implement corrective action to improve performance.
  • Monitor product quality and liaise closely with QA to ensure products are within specification. Ensure that all team members are aware of quality standards, product specifications, and NPD (new product launches).
  • Manage and develop all team members. Conduct regular staff appraisals and conduct return to work interviews and disciplinaries as and when required.
  • Monitor product waste during the production process and produce detailed waste analysis. Implement measures to continually reduce waste levels and ensure that staff are aware of waste targets and improvement plans.
  • Implement all company health and safety policies and procedures and ensure safe working practices within your team. Be aware of your responsibilities with respect to health and safety legislation, this to include Risk Assessments and Accident Reduction.
  • Implement and maintain cleaning practices in production, ensuring that clean as you go and regular cleaning procedures are followed. Train all team members in cleaning procedures.
  • Conduct product and production line changeovers. Train team members to clean and set-up machinery. Produce and implement proposals to reduce changeover times.
  • Continuous Improvement and problem solving.

  • Attention to detail
