About the role: As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading, motivating and developing your team while remaining a hands-on and active member of the operation. You will ensure the daily production plan is achieved through the effective utilisation of labour, materials and machinery, while driving efficiencies, reducing waste and promoting a right-first-time culture. You will foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing working environment, consistently reinforcing the organisation's values, health and safety standards, and customer service objectives. A key focus of the role will be ensuring operational excellence and supporting the delivery of customer requirements through strong performance against OTIF (On Time In Full) targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct all necessary start-up and shut down procedures, including safety checks whilst also ensuring efficient break controls are implemented.
  • Work with the relevant departments to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime, with quick turnaround.
  • Take ownership of the area, machinery, processes, products and shift members to enable KPIs to be achieved.
  • Ensure procedural compliance is adhered to at all times relating to the process relevant to the area, maintaining quality standards at all times.
  • Involvement with shift handover as communication is critical for the shifts output.
  • Involvement each day with the H&S management, including hazard reporting/ accident and near miss reporting.
  • Training of staff and assist in the development and training to develop a multi-skilled workforce.
  • Performance management to support the manager with identifying under performers and manage an improvement plan from a capability view.
  • Take ownership for the department and communicating upwards any problems with plant / people / quality.
  • Ensure all Operatives follow hygiene and cleanliness procedures at all times, to include correct usage of the relevant PPE for the area.

Skills Required

  • A minimum of 2 years Warehousing experience.
  • Hands on experience of managing and supervising a busy warehouse process and workforce.
  • A hardworking and dedicated professional who gets the job done.
  • Proficient computer skills, with ERP system experience.

Desirable Qualities

  • Able to demonstrate interpersonal credibility at all levels.
  • Diligent, confident and assertive at all levels.
  • Strong team working ethic.
  • Excellent Communication skills both verbal and written.
  • MHE Licences preferred, but not essential as training can be given.
